Meet our readers: Karen Genelly

This month we have not ONE but TWO Karens!! I don’t know about you, but I’m buying a hundred dollars worth of lottery tickets this week.

Karen Genelly taught, and was a counselor in the Chicago Public Schools for nearly forty years. She loves Chicago, and while traveling pretty much all around the world always returns to Chicago and home. As a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation River Cruise she loves telling stories of Chicago, its architecture, and the people who live here. Karen has been writing and telling stories all her life, lately at such venues as: “This Much is True,” “Is This a Thing?,” “Homewood Stories,” “Story Lab,” and now “That’s All She Wrote.” She is totally stoked to be telling with such gifted tellers and writers.

Likewise, we are totally stoked to have Karen Genelly reading with us, she kicks ass! Come to Great Lakes Tattoo (1148 W. Grand Avenue) on Sunday for our DOUBLE KAREN LINEUP! FREE Revolution Brewing beer and not free, but incredibly delicious savory pies from Pleasant House Bakery available at 7pm, stories start at 8pm.
