Meet our readers: Angela Vela

Everyone, we’ve got Angela Vela reading with us! Angela has, like a real bio. Lookit all this stuff she does:

Angela produces, hosts and performs at a variety of shows all across the city and its suburbs.  For the last four years, her unique style of stand-up comedy comes has come from a combination of storytelling, people watching, and cultural observations.  After co-hosting live lit variety show The Sunday Night Sex Show for two years, she created storytelling series The Seven Deadly Sins, stand-up comedy show Chicago Comedy Transit, and the recently debuted Between the Sheets: The Love & Sex Variety Show.  She is also currently a senior co-producer and writer for The God, Sex & Death Variety Hour.  Angela is also in her third year as a senior member of Broad Shoulders Productions, where she produces, directs, writes and acts in short films and theater productions throughout the year.  She has performed at many shows around the city including Stoop Style Stories, The Blackout Diaries, Menage-Ha!, The Kates, I Shit You Not!, Here’s the Story, The Moth and Storyclub Southside.  She has also performed in various festivals including Printers Row, Chicago Women’s Funny Festival, and will be appearing for both The Seven Deadly Sins and The God, Sex & Death Variety Hour at this next years Filet Of Solo festival!  Angela is currently co-producing storytelling and variety fundraiser The Cat Diaries in benefit of cat shelter Harmony House for Cats, on Nov. 24th at Haymarket Pub & Brewery, please come support the shelter!!
