Our November show benefits the National Runaway Safeline, and – meet Becca Bowlin!

November is National Runaway Prevention Month

We’ve teamed up with the National Runaway Safeline to increase awareness and raise funds for NRS, a national organization dedicated to keeping  runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth safe. This month we’ll be telling stories centered around the theme of “home,” and we’re featuring Becca Bowlin, who works at NRS. All donations collected at the November show will be donated to NRS.

Meet our readers – Becca Bowlin!

Becca Bowlin attended the University of New Mexico where she graduated with a BA in Criminology.  She works with runaway and homeless teenagers at the National Runaway Safeline for a living and is a starving artist on the side.  She enjoys painting, storytelling, reading comic books, and collecting rare, expensive parking tickets.  She currently lives in Chicago with her husband and couch potato dog named Trout.

Come to Great Lakes Tattoo on Sunday, November 9 and hear Becca’s story. Doors open at 7, Pleasant House Bakery will be there with their food truck full of savory pies, and stories start at 8. BYOB, wheee!
