Everyone, meeet Rebecca Keller. We saw this lady kick it at the Guild Literary Prose awards in October, and immediately recruited her to read for us.
Rebecca is a Chicago artist and writer, teaching at the School of the Art Institute. Her numerous awards include two Fulbrights, grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and a TED talk; exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary art/Chicago, the Portland Art Museum; the 4th International Waldkunst Biennial; the Estonian National Art Museum, and the International Museum of Surgical Science, among others. A book of her art and essays, “Excavating History” came out in 2012. She is also cofounder of YoYoMagazine.org, an online journal of art, writing and creativity
Keller’s writing honors include the Joan Jakobsen Award from the Wesleyan Writer’s Conference, a pushcart nomination, finalist for the 2013 Chicago Literary Guild Prose/ Fiction Award and the Betty Gabehart prize.
